I’m very sorry to hear about the loss of your dear husband. I could tell by your comments and actions that you were a very supportive and kind wife to him. The scriptures at Revelations 21:3-4 are very comforting to me because they speak of a time when all of our tears and pain will be a thing of the past. I hope that this scripture will bring you comfort as well.

I am standing upon the seashore. A ship, at my side,
spreads her white sails to the moving breeze and starts
for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength.
The object of the poem, the ship, is introduced here as strong and beautiful. Van Dyke refers to it as female; if the ship were human, she would be the very picture of health and vitality.
I stand and watch her until, at length, she hangs like a speck
of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other.
Not being diminished in any way except by the narrator’s own perspective, she slowly disappears.
Then, someone at my side says, “There, she is gone.
Gone where?
Gone from my sight. That is all. She is just as large in mast,
hull and spar as she was when she left my side.
And, she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her destined port.
Her diminished size is in me — not in her.
Thus the ship remains strong and able, carrying precious cargo safety to its destination.
And, just at the moment when someone says, “There, she is gone,”
there are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices
ready to take up the glad shout, “Here she comes!”
And that is dying…
RIP my friend.

Goodbye Randy...May you rest in peace.
Thank you for everything you taught me and for all the laughs. Your knowledge of computers, cooking, music, movies, photography, carpentry, auto mechanics, TV trivia, and everything else was incredible. You were an encyclopedia of both useful and useless info...and a lot of fun to be with.
We miss you terribly.

It is with deep sadness and loss that we post this. Our hearts break with yours in this hour of your grief. Our thoughts, hearts, and prayers go with you. Randy's life indeed left a mark on this world and we are all better off having been a part of it. You will be missed Randy. "Go rest high on that mountain, your work here on Earth is done."
"May the road rise up to meet you,
May the wind be ever at your back
May the sun shine warm upon your face
And the rain fall softly on your fields
And until we meet again, May God hold
you in the hollow of his hand."

I was so sorry to hear of Randy's passing all though I had heard he was quite ill. I knew him when we were kids. We lived in the Mineral Springs area outside of Cassville, Missouri and for many years were"next door" neighbors living up the hill from them. I was very good friends with his sister Marcia. Even then Randy had the love of photography and a talent for it and was one of those "good at everything" guys. I have fond memories of Randy and his family as we grew up in that special time and place that seems so far away today. I'm sure that his passing will leave many in grief of trying to learn to live with out him. He was always know as a fine young man of excellent character and personality and was always nice to me, the little sister of his friend and his little sister's friend. God bless Randy's family with the comfort only He can give. Ruth Steele Guenzler

I am so sorry to learn of Randy's passing. He was, simply, a good man who happily and willingly shared his remarkable knowledge and curiosity. But what I think I will remember most of all his wonderful, wry sense of humor, which was always generous and always accompanied by an equally generous and infectious smile. I am very grateful our paths crossed.
