WEST SUFFIELD – Thomas “Mully” Patrick Mullins, 59, passed away at his home in West Suffield, CT, on Saturday, March 27, 2021.  At the time of his passing, Mully was surrounded by those he loved the most, his devoted wife and family. 

Tommy was born on October 22, 1961, in Northampton, MA to James M. Mullins, Sr. and Shirley M. (Cramer) Mullins of West Hatfield, MA.

Mully grew up in Hatfield, MA and lived in West Suffield for the last 27 years. He graduated from Smith Academy Class of 1979.  He earned a B.A. in Communications from Central Connecticut State University in 1983, where he also played on the Soccer Team. 

Mully loved all sports, especially the Boston Red Sox, the Celtics, and the New England Patriots, for which he was a season ticket holder for many years.  Mully is a member of CCSOA and USSSA.  He refereed boys and girls high school soccer for 25+ years.   He also refereed girls high school softball and fastpitch softball leagues.  He was also instrumental in organizing family whiffleball games every chance he had.

Tommy loved golf and traveled the country playing golf in Myrtle Beach, Hawaii, Georgia, Florida, Arizona, California, to name a few, with his golf buddies and attended over 10 PGA Masters Tournaments.  Mully was virtually known as the Commish of MPPP Fantasy Football Team and MMM Basketball Team which he ran for over 25 yrs.

He and his family also enjoyed spending many summers on his boat at Lovell Lake in Wakefield, NH, boating on Lake Winnipausaukee, and vacationing in Old Orchard Beach, ME.  Tommy and his wife Sue are devoted Parrot Heads and created a lifetime of memories traveling the country attending 30+ Buffet concerts.   Tommy was usually the first to arrive and the last to leave any event that resembled a party.

Mully worked for US Airways Fleet Service at Bradley International Airport for 30 years before their merger with American Airlines, where he continued working for an additional 5 years before his retirement in 2020.  He was known to bring smiles to his co-workers and those around him with his never ending jokes.

Tommy tied the knot with the love of his life and woman of his dreams,  Susan (Springer) Mullins at a beachside ceremony on Diamond Head Beach , Hawaii in 2001.

Tommy is predeceased by his parents James & Shirley M. Mullins and his in-laws Robert & Shirley Springer.

He leaves his partner and wife of 33 years Sue Mullins of West Suffield, CT, his stepdaughter Sherry DiSalvo and her husband Russ DiSalvo of Enfield, CT, his stepson Donnie Swider of Granby, CT, his grandchildren, who he loved dearly,  Maeghen DiSalvo, his favorite granddaughter, Nicolas DiSalvo, Joshua DiSalvo, and Brandon DiSalvo, all of Enfield, CT, and Aiden Swider of Granby, CT,  his brothers James M. Mullins, Jr. and his wife Linda of Oro Valley, AZ and Charles “Gary” Mullins and his wife Joan of Turners Falls, MA, his sister Cindy West and her husband Kenneth of Tucson, AZ,  his one surviving aunt, Beverly Foster of Southampton, MA., along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and many amazing friends. 

Family and friends are invited to attend a walk-through visiting hour from 10 AM – 11 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 446 Mountain Rd., Suffield, CT 06078 on Tuesday, April 6, 2021.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM at the church.  Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Suffield, CT.
