AGAWAM-Thelma E. (Deraleau) Ryan, 91, passed away on Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at Heritage Hall East in Agawam, Massachusetts where she had resided for the past 2 years.
Thelma was born on July 29, 1927, in West Springfield, Massachusetts, the daughter of Henry Joseph Deraleau and Rhea Florence (Dubour) Deraleau. She lived in West Springfield, Massachusetts for many years before relocating to South Hadley, Massachusetts. Thelma was a member of Agawam Golden Age Chapter 2 and served as a Eucharistic minister at St. Louis Church in West Springfield, Massachusetts, and St. Patrick’s Church in South Hadley, Massachusetts.
Thelma is predeceased by her parents Henry and Rhea Deraleau, her husband of 61 years Charles E. Ryan, Sr., and her sister Lenore Dion. She is survived by her 3 daughters: Mary Hall and her husband Allyn of Westfield, Massachusetts, Dianne Perron and her husband Bruce of South Hadley, Massachusetts, and Thelma Ryan of West Springfield, Massachusetts; her son Charles E. Ryan, Jr. and his wife Kelly of Huffman, Texas, 7 grandchildren: Allyn Hall, Jr., Stephen Hall, David Perron, Christopher Perron, Charles Ryan III, Dillithia Pressey, and Jessica Ryan; 9 great-grandchildren, along with other family members and friends.
The family of Thelma Ryan would like to thank the staff and doctors of Heritage Hall East, their care was loving, compassionate, and respectful which allowed her an enjoyable life experience there.
A private interment will take place at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband Charles E. Ryan, Sr.
