Sheldon Porter Faunce

Sheldon Porter Faunce, 79, passed away on Monday, December 16, 2019 at his home in Westfield, MA. 

Sheldon was born on October 28, 1940, in New Bedford, MA to Chester A. Faunce and Sarah (Hindle) Faunce. 

Sheldon graduated from Westfield Trade class of 1959.  Soon after graduation, he started working for Old Colony / National Envelope in Westfield, MA where he completed more than 40 years of service ending his career as a production supervisor.  Sheldon was an avid golfer, a passion he enjoyed throughout his life.  He was a member of Tekoa Country Club where he directed many leagues over the years.  When Sheldon was not indulging himself in golf, he enjoyed bowling and playing cards.  He was also an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan.   

Sheldon is predeceased by his parents Chester and Sarah Faunce, his brother Howland Faunce and his wife June, his mother in law Dorothy Frietas, his nephew Ryan Frietas, and his furry companion Simba.  

Survivors include his wife Cheryl (Frietas) Faunce of Westfield, MA, his daughter Shelley Conti and her fiancé Ben Benton of Ludlow, MA, his son Chet Faunce and his wife Anne of Westfield, MA, his sister Cynthia Faunce of Boca Raton, FL, his grandchildren: Alisha Conti, Deanna Conti, Joshua Faunce, and Jacob Faunce, his father in law Raymond Frietas of Attleboro, MA, his brother’s in law: Frank Frietas and his wife Clare of Attleboro, MA, David Frietas of Attleboro, MA, and Gary Frietas and his wife Michelle of North Attleboro, MA, many nieces, nephews, and other family members, along with his special friends: Ed and Gail West of Huntington, MA, Harry and Marilyn Thompson of Westfield, MA, Bob and Roma Kidrick of Westfield, MA, and John and Connie Kidrick of Westfield, MA.

Sheldon’s family extends a special thank you to Overlook VNA and Hospice, the CNAs, and Amy for the wonderful care and compassion they provided throughout Sheldon’s illness.
