Rene Boulrice, Sr. Obituary

CHICOPEE – Rene Anthony Boulrice, 87, passed away on Thursday, April 8, 2021, at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield, MA, with his loving family by his side.

Rene was born on June 9, 1933, in Springfield, MA to Edward J. Boulrice and Flora M. (Dargis) Boulrice. 

Rene served his country in the US Army from 1955 to 1962, stationed in Lynn, MA, on a Missile Base aircraft and as a Battery Carpenter.  He loved his country.

As a young man, Rene enjoyed racing motorcycles and riding snowmobiles, he loved family gatherings and just getting together with the people he loved.

Rene was an avid boater, and enjoyed going up and down the Connecticut River and the Florida intercoastal with family and friends.  Rene had a large strong presence that made you feel safe and loved. 

Rene was a member of the Moose Lodge No 1017, St. Augustine, FL

Rene owned Rene Boulrice General Contractor for many years. He was a perfectionist in his field and very respected for the job he did.  His proudest accomplishment was his big beautiful loving family.

Rene had a contagious laugh that made everyone happy.  He was loved and respected by everyone who knew him.  His pride for his family always showed in his eyes as he would sit back and watch them at family gatherings.

Rene is predeceased by his parents Edward and Flora Boulrice, his brothers: Gerard, Emery, and Alfred Boulrice; and his sister-in-law Helen Boulrice.

He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 46 years Estelle J. (Lavigne) Boulrice of Chicopee, MA, his sons: Rene A. Boulrice, Jr and his wife Paula of Reading, VT, Joseph Haley and his wife Sheila of Palmyra, ME, Timothy Haley and his wife Cheryl of Chicopee MA; his daughters: Sharon Haley-Robbins of Wilbraham, MA, Denise Fehm and her husband Steven of East Granby, CT, Rosemarie “Romy” Harrow and her husband Rob of Clermont, FL, and Lisa Boulrice and her fiancé Patrick Murray of Clarendon, VT; his sister-in-law Beverly Boulrice of Springfield, MA, 16 grandchildren, Hailey, Matt, Missy, Mindy, Shelley, Jennifer, Shaun, Jayceen, Kerie, Tim, Jr., Ryan, Colleen, Mike, Nicole, Spencer and Stephanie, 22 great-grandchildren, Tyler, Mason, Olive, Mili May, Kylie, Cassady, Carson, Annabelle, Gabriella, Lily, Nico, Tim III, Brianna, Raelyn, Keira, Claire, Emily, Samantha, Coree, Kaeli, Kloey and Hunter, along with many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.  He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.  We can’t forget his trusted dog and best friend Tuffy who will miss him dearly.

Rene will be laid to rest with full military honors at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Agawam, MA.  Service details will be announced.
