Ruthann Patenaude died unexpectedly 01/13/24 after a long struggle with health issues. She was a loving daughter, wife, sister, aunt, and friend. Born 11/26/56 to Shirley R. and the late George W. Tower, Ruthann graduated with honors from Southwick High School in 1974. She began her career as an international telephone operator due to her interest in foreign languages. Ruthann had a lifelong curiosity of other cultures. Sampling traditional cuisine at local international festivals was a much anticipated annual event.
Her work took her to Colorado, Texas,, and New Hampshire, eventually returning to the Springfield area, where she continued her education at STCC, and HCC.
Ruthann married Dave Patenaude in 1987. They shared 37 years together and were loving parents to several rescued kitties. Ruthann enjoyed visiting Barbados, and the Grand Canyon, cooking special meals (the best lasagna) and frequenting favorite restaurants. She was an avid reader, especially liked cookbooks and sharing recipes and treats with family and friends. Ruthann introduced us to the excitement of King Richard's Faire, instilling a love of history and pageantry with her nieces and nephews. She enjoyed shopping and supporting local crafters at holiday bazaars.
Ruthann was always ready to help as she could and if lunch was involved all the better! She will be missed by her husband David Patenaude. Her mother Shirley R. Tower, her siblings: William Tower, Suzanne (Peter) Hansen, Dianne (Norman) Button and her many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Private services to be held at the graveside at the family's convenience.
