ROSEMARY RYAN

1943 – 2022 WESTFIELD – Rosemary Ryan, 78, passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2022, at her home in Westfield, MA.

Rosemary was born in Springfield, MA in 1943, to the late Albert E. Ryan and Katherine F. (Kane) Ryan.

Rosemary graduated from Cathedral High School in Springfield, MA Class of 1961. She attended Westfield State University where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.

Rosemary’s greatest joy was taking care of her twin grandchildren when they were younger, and she remained exceptionally close with them as they grew up.

Rosemary was an excellent baker; family and friends always looked forward to her desserts at special occasions and on holidays. Her apple pie was the best around.

In her spare time, Rosemary was an avid reader and Hallmark movie afficionado. She enjoyed lunch dates with her many college friends whom she stayed in close contact with through the years.

Other than her parents, Rosemary is predeceased by her daughter Karen Ann Alfano.

Survivors include her daughter Katherine Gawron of Southwick, MA, her son Ernest Alfano of Boston, MA, her brother Francis Ryan and his wife Cheryl of CT, her grandchildren Daniel Gawron and Rebecca Gawron of Southwick, MA, along with many other family members and lifelong friends.
