WESTFIELD - Robert “Bob” Horsler, 80, of Westfield, MA, passed peacefully in his sleep on January 24th, 2025, after battling cancer for several years.
Bob was born in Plattsburgh, NY, on June 30, 1944, to the late Cecilia Horsler. He enlisted in the United States Army in July 1965 and served 2 years before transferring to the Army Reserves.
Bob worked for Roncari Inc. a trap rock quarry in East Granby, CT for 39 years. Even prior to retiring, Bob loved fishing, whether it was on a boat, in the winter on a lake, or just on a shore relaxing by the water. He also enjoyed playing card and board games, and would never let his children win. He also enjoyed camping with his family and being behind the grill cooking for everyone.
Bob leaves his wife of 56 years, Clara-Louise (Doak) Horsler, his daughters, Cindy Horsler and Sara (Horsler) Gallagher and her husband Rodney Gallagher, his grandsons Brady and Logan Gallagher, his brothers, Owen Horsler and Gary Horsler, along with many other family members and friends whom he loved and cherished.

Family and friends will gather for a period of visitation on Saturday, February 1, 2025, from 10:00 AM – 12 NOON at Avalon Life Celebration Center & Cremation Services, LLC 691 College Hwy Southwick, MA 01077 A private burial will take place at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Agawam, MA at a later date.
