Norine G. (Barber) St. Peter

CHICOPEE-Norine Gertrude St. Peter (nee Barber), passed away peacefully on October 1, 2020, at the age of 94.

Norine was born on November 13, 1925, in Cowansville, Quebec to the late Thomas and Bessie Barber.

Noreen resided in Chicopee since early 2000 after moving back from a stay in Deltona, Florida. She was employed at Smith & Wesson for many years and worked at Bay State Hospital for 19 years as a Pharmaceutical Dispatch Clerk.  Norine was a devout New York Yankee’s fan.

She was pre-deceased by her Husband Burton St. Peter and her siblings Fred, Betty, and Buddy.

She is survived by her sister Pearl Hopson of Hampton, Ontario.  She will be missed by her nieces Jane Hopson and Joan Hopson, her nephew Jim Hopson, along with many other nieces and nephews. Norine will also be dearly missed by her second cousin Dan Holden and his partner Kathy Budrow, and long time friend Joanne Kusnierz who were her care team in the last year of her life.

The family would like to thank Christopher Heights, in Belchertown, MA for the great love and care they bestowed on Noreen during the time she resided there, especially in her final days, and Trinity Hospice for their care and support. 

May God Bless Noreen’s soul and may she rest in eternal peace.

A graveside service will be held at 1 PM on Friday, October 9, 2020, at St. Michael Cemetery, 1601 State St, Springfield, MA.
