SPRINGFIELD-Mani Adhikari, 83, passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2020, at her home in Springfield, MA. At the time of her passing, Mani was surrounded by those she loved the most, her loving and devoted family.
Mani was born on October 1, 1936, in Sibsoo, Bhutan to the late Padam L. Dhungel and Pabitra (Poudel) Dhungel.
Before immigrating to the United States with her family in 2009, Mani was an adventurous explorer. She enjoyed traveling and exploring throughout South Asia with her children and grandchildren.
Mani was an excellent cook and always enjoyed preparing meals for her entire family.
Mani recognized the value of education. She tirelessly encouraged and inspired her children and grandchildren to take full advantage of every opportunity to further their higher education and religious education.
She leaves her sons Narayan Adhikari, Gyan Adhikari, Dhurba Adhikari, and Punya Adhikari, her daughters Gayatri Timsina and Saraswati Dhakal, 21 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.
The family will hold a private funeral service at Avalon Life Celebration Center & Cremation Services, LLC 691 College Hwy, Southwick, MA followed by a private cremation.
