Karen G. Shepard

BLANDFORD-Karen G. Shepard, 72, passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2020, at Westfield Gardens in Westfield, MA. 

Karen was born in Westfield, MA to Arthur and Alice E. Shepard (nee Allen) on August 30, 1947.  Karen was a lifelong resident of Blandford, MA.  She graduated from Westfield High School and earned an Associates Degree from Springfield Community College.  Karen worked for the City of Westfield for many years. 

The entire Shepard Family shared a passion for the Haflinger Horse.  Karen was a founding member of the Haflinger Horse Association of Massachusetts and had served as the Association Secretary for many years. 

Karen actively served on the Blandford Fair Association.  In her spare time, she enjoyed knitting and crafting and listening to Country and Western Music.  She was an avid reader and especially enjoyed reading Westerns.

Karen is predeceased by her parents and her brother Craig A. Shepard. 

Survivors include her aunts Sandra Wyman and her husband Arthur of Blandford, MA, and Bertha Pease and her husband Donald of Blandford, MA, her uncle Carl Allen of Westfield, MA along with many nieces, nephews, and other family members. 

A private burial will be held in the Spring at Hill Cemetery in Blandford, MA.
