KAREN IRENE (BEROTH) SMITH

WESTFIELD – Karen Irene Smith, 79, passed away on Monday, July 19, 2021, at her home in Westfield, MA. At the time of her passing Karen was surrounded by her family and furry friends.

Karen was born on November 9, 1941, in Hartford, CT to the late Alfred and Gloria (Gardner) Beroth. Karen’s family was always her Number 1 along with a love of nature and animals. 

She is survived by her daughters Gloria Nelson and her husband Garry of Westfield, MA and Jayne Talbot of Feeding Hills, MA, her sons Kenneth Stanhope and David Messenger, Jr. both of Westfield, MA, her grandchildren, Andrew Talbot of Williamsburg, MA, Brianna Talbot of Holyoke, MA, Andrea Jasinski of Huntington, MA and Corrine Nelson of Westfield, MA, her Great Grandchildren: Lexy, Dustyn, Hailey, Abby, Cami and Darren; her furry friends Miss Molly and Bailey (Booboo) who will miss snuggling in her lap, along with many other family members and friends. 

Avalon Funeral & Cremation Services, 691 College Hwy, Southwick, MA 01077 has been entrusted with arrangements.  The family will hold a private funeral service at the funeral home followed by burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Westfield, MA.
