JOYCE B. (MONCZKA) JONES

WESTFIELD-Joyce B. Jones, 76, passed away at her home in Westfield, MA on Thursday, April 16, 2020.  Joyce was with her devoted husband of 8 years who held her hand through the evening in celebration of their wedding anniversary,  and her loving family at the time of her passing. 

Joyce was born on March 2, 1944, in Westfield, MA to Peter Monczka and Gertrude (Ouilette) Monczka.

Although Joyce needed the care and support of her family during her last weeks, she often dedicated her time to taking care of family and friends in their final days.  Her big heart and loving spirit provided comfort for many. 

Proclaimed as the best grandmother and lovingly referred to as “Momma Moose” for her extensive collection of moose decorations and memorabilia, there are big shoes to fill to carry on her legacy.

Joyce’s favorite past time was the many summers she spent camping at Lake George with her family and friends.  She also enjoyed her time spent at the Italian Club in Westfield, MA.

Joyce held a special place in her heart for animals, especially the furry friends she leaves behind, her dog Bobby-Jo and her cat Whiskers. 

Joyce is predeceased by her parents Peter and Gertrude Monczka.  She leaves her husband Gene Jones of Westfield, MA, her daughter Rose Lafreniere and her husband Timothy of Westfield, MA, her son Anthony Monczka of Westfield, MA, her sister Shirley Tatro and her husband Paul of Westfield, MA, her granddaughters Kaitlin Lafreniere and her fiancé Anthony King of Westfield, MA, and Krystal Monczka of FL, her best friend Lucille Ober of Westfield, MA along with other family members and friends. 

All services for Joyce are private for the family only.  Avalon Life Celebration Center & Cremation Services, LLC 691 College Hwy. Southwick, MA has been entrusted with arrangements.
