SOUTHWICK, MA - John J. Gorman passed away unexpectedly on November 29, 2022 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield with Kim by his side. Born on July 12, 1957 in North Adams he was the son of the late Joseph F. Gorman and Elizabeth (Primmer) Gorman also of North Adams, MA.
John leaves his wife, Kimberly Bieniek Gorman with whom he spent 37 years. He also leaves his son, friend and confidante, Joseph R. Gorman. John and Joe will always be known for their great debates.
John also leaves a sister, Cathy Blanchard of North Adams, MA and was predeceased by two sisters, Eileen Kawa and Anna Mae Emmons. Nephews Joseph Emmons and Todd Kawa; nieces, Rebecca Merrihew and April Briggs who was called home many years ago. He also left many dear friends.
John spent most of his working years in the trucking industry, and was a proud member of the Teamster’s Union. He retired from trucking in 2013 which allowed him to enjoy more time on his pontoon boat on Lake Congamond. Many a hot summer afternoon John and Kim could be found anchored in the North Pond, John with his Boston Red Sox coolie in hand.
John’s favorite song was Frank Sinatra’s “I Did it My Way” and that’s just what he did.
John will be laid to rest in North Adams, MA in a private ceremony.
