JEANETTE MARIE (LANPHEAR) NEIS

WEST SUFFIELD – Jeanette Marie Neis (Lanphear), 91, passed away on December 5, 2022, in Springfield, Massachusetts.

Jeanette was born on September 12, 1931, in Craftsbury, VT to the late Albert L. Lanphear of VT and Elsie M. Lanphear (Sheltra) of VT.

Jeanette graduated from Peoples Academy in 1949 and the Bishop DeGoesbriand Hospital School of Nursing in 1952. Jeanette dedicated her life working to help others, working in the OBGYN Department of the Mary Fletcher Hospital, now known as The Medical Center Hospital of Vermont followed by over 40 years as a Head Nurse at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA. Jeanette was a communicant at the Sacred Heart Parish in Feeding Hills. Jeanette had a passion for flowers and spent time taking care of her beautiful garden. She communicated and kept up with her beautiful and large family and friends on Facebook and absolutely loved watching Hallmark Movies but only when the Boston Red Sox were not playing as she was a huge fan.

Jeanette leaves behind her son Richard Neis Jr. and his wife Patricia of West Suffield, CT, her daughter Deborah Arquette of Tucson, AZ, her sisters Sybil Ainsworth of Vermont and Dorothy Spaulding of Vermont, her five grandchildren; Cindy Porter and her husband Robert of AZ, Brett Ponusky and his wife Angela of AZ, Richard Neis III and his wife Ashley of TN, Kristen Clapp and her husband David of Southwick, MA, and Brittany Neis of Springfield, MA as well as her 12 great-grandchildren with one on the way. Jeanette also leaves behind her lifelong family friends Collin Avery and Roger Connor, along with many other family members and friends.

Other than her parents, Jeanette is predeceased by her brothers; Richard Lanphear and his wife Van, Alfred Lanphear and his wife Beulah, Wayne Lanphear and his wife Pat, Dale Lanphear and his wife Sally, her sisters; Francese Cochran and her husband Wilfred, Ruth Lamell and her husband Edward, Gloria Godfrey and her husband Richard, Verlie Tillotson and her husband Wallace, Marion Houghton and her husband Harold, her granddaughter Sharon Lynn Ponusky, and her brothers-in-law Donald Spaulding and Leslie Ainsworth..

A liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at 1 pm on December 10, 2022, at Sacred Heart Parish, 1061 Springfield Street, Feeding Hills, MA 01030. A private burial will be held at the convenience of the family. End of life arrangements have been entrusted to Avalon Life Celebration Center & Cremation Services, LLC, 691 College Hwy, Southwick, MA 01077.
