JASMINE ADASSA MCKOY

Jasmine ADASSA McKoy, affectionally known as Ms. Das, went to her eternal heavenly home on Monday, August 10, 2020, at the age of 76.  Ms. Das passed away at her home in Windsor, CT and was surrounded by devoted and loving family. 

Ms. Das was born on October 9, 1943, in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica. She was a member of Rehoboth Church of God in Bloomfield, CT.  Her love of life, open heart for all people, and her willingness to serve made her a vital part of the Women’s Ministry at Rehoboth. 

Ms. Das was devoted to her family. She truly tried to be a rainbow in someone else’s cloud by opening her heart and home to her nieces and anyone that needed assistance. She was a fashionista with an extraordinary wit. Her encounters would leave you with a lesson or a blessing. Cooking was a favorite pastime, preparing meals for her family made her heart smile.  In her free time, Ms. Das enjoyed taking long walks and singing along with her favorite gospel group, Grace Thrillers.  Thank you for woven in the lives of others a remarkable legacy of honor, healing and servanthood.

Ms. Das is predeceased by her husband Egent McKoy, her parents, two brothers and two sisters. 

Survivors include her daughters Joan Stewart of Windsor, CT and Diana Garvin of Wyoming, grand-children Chevoy, Natoya, Jamar and Olivia,  great-grandchildren Liam, Naimah, Devon and Nataiyah, two brothers, and six sisters, along with many other family members and close friends. 

The Homegoing Service for Ms. Das will be held at Rehoboth Church of God, 1170 Blue Hills Avenue, Bloomfield, CT 06002 on Saturday, August 22, 2020.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM with a service starting at 11:00 AM. 

There will be a private burial for the family.
