Frederick Chambers Obituary

Frederick Duane Chambers, 82, passed away peacefully on Monday October 26, 2020 at Baystate Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.

Fred was born on October 24, 1938 in Oswegatchie, New York to the late James E. Chambers and Annas(Redman) Chambers.

Fred resided in New York until 1972, when he and his beloved wife, Nancy L. (LaPointe) Chambers moved to Russell, Massachusetts where they went on to raise their three children John, Christina, and Tiffany.

Fred worked loyally for the Westfield River Paper Company for 22 long years. After retirement, he went on to work in Maintenance at the Russell VFW, where he was able to be with his wife Nancy, and where he also served in the Auxiliary Department.

Fred was a family man through and through. He took great pride in being a father to his three wonderful children, and a Grampy to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Fred enjoyed many things in life, but one of his greatest loves, aside from his wife Nancy, was dancing. The passion that poured out of his soul when that beat hit just right, was something that anyone would be lucky to witness. All he needed was his dancing boots and a song, and he could be caught dancing anywhere, with anyone...although he did prefer dancing with the ladies, especially his wife and daughters. Fred was also a die hard Red Sox fan, he could always be found watching the game, and cheering on his favorite team with a Budweiser in hand. In his spare time, Fred enjoyed playing pool and horseshoes with his friends at the club, watching the birds that visited him during his morning coffee, and tending to his beautiful flower and vegetable gardens.

Fred was predeceased by his wife, Nancy LaPointe Chambers, his parents James and Annas Chambers, and his siblings Howard Chambers, Clifford Chambers, Burton Chambers, Richard (Dick) Chambers, Leon Chambers, Gloria Mills, Norma Brooks, Sharon Spicer, and Ida Cummings.

Fred leaves behind his son John Chambers, and Spouse Catherine Miller of Westfield, MA. His daughter Christina Chambers, and spouse John Wassell of Willington, CT. His daughter Tiffany Chambers Henry, and her husband Thom Henry of Chester, MA. His grandchildren Alyssa, Shelby, Ashley, Aindreaha, and Chelsea. His great grandchildren Tucker, Bentley, and Alice. His sisters Rosemary Simmons, EleanorJames, and Agnes Perry, of New York. Along with many other family and friends whom he loved dearly.
