WEST SPRINGFIELD-Dianne L. Russell, 69, peacefully passed away on Friday, January 13, 2017 surrounded by her loving family at Wingate in West Springfield, MA. Gibby as she was affectionately known by her family was born on February 20, 1947 in Springfield, MA to the late George Russell and Louise (Mourey) Russell-Vogt. Dianne was a compassionate and sensitive woman who had worked for many years as a CNA in the Springfield, MA area. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, crossword puzzles, being at the beach and reading especially to her grandchildren when they were younger. A talented seamstress, she made her daughters prom dress and would often make scrubs for her friends at work. Gibby was a talented knitter, quilter and crocheter. She won 1st place at the Big E for her Afghan Granny Pattern submission and even donated an afghan to the Agawam Senior Center fund raiser where she enjoyed spending time with her friends. With all of her talents she even found time to volunteer at the Lions Club. Predeceased by her parents, her brother Paul and her son Bert Nitch, she leaves her daughter Jacqueline Lapinski and her husband Todd of West Springfield, MA, her grandchildren Aaron and Cody Dallaire of West Springfield, MA, her brothers, Dennis and Peter Russell, her sisters, Mary Larsen and her husband Rich and Susan Strycharz along many other family members and friends.
