Daniel Bruce Wood

BRATTLEBORO,VT-Mr. Daniel Bruce Wood, 82, passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2016 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA.  Daniel was born on October 01, 1934 in Hartford, CT to John and Sylvia Wood. 

Dan pursued many endeavors throughout his life.  He worked at the National Atomic Laboratory in New Mexico, taught grade school and trade school, and worked in commercial and residential real estate.   A veteran, Dan served in the U. S. Army Reserve.  He lived in many places during his life, but was especially fond of the desert southwest, where Dan lived in Arizona and New Mexico.  Upon his retirement, Dan came back to his native northeast, residing in Massachusetts and Vermont.  Dan enjoyed baseball (a life time Red Sox fan), fishing, cribbage and golf.  He was quick with a joke and a smile.

Predeceased by his parents and a brother John Wood, Dan leaves his sons:  William P. Wood (Cindy) of Chesapeake, VA, Steven J. Wood (Hope) of Fredericksburg, VA and Paul M. Wood (Karen) of Greely, CO,   nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren, brothers David Wood and Peter Wood (Jane)  both of Windsor, CT, and many other family members and friends.  The family has entrusted Avalon Life Celebration Center & Cremation Services, LLC 691 College Hwy., Southwick, MA with the arrangements.  To express a condolence please visit Daniel’s memorial page at www.avaloncelebrations.com.
