Arlene Beverly Hanlon (Luoma) Gladkowski

WESTFIELD-Arlene Beverly Hanlon Gladkowski, nee Luoma, passed away on Sunday, February 05, 2017 at Westfield Gardens for Nursing & Rehabilitation at the age of 86.  Arlene was born on March 16, 1930 in Minneapolis, MN to John and Bernice Luoma.  She spent her childhood in Minneapolis before marrying Robert Hanlon.  Arlene faithfully supported her new husband’s Air Force career.  She joined him traveling the world from Japan to Germany, where her oldest daughter Robin was born.  They spend many years traveling the world enjoying military life.  In 1971 Arlene married John Gladkowski.  They settled in Soutwick, MA on Congamond Lake where they enjoyed boating and the Lake Life.  Arlene and John welcomed her second child, Amy Gladkowski.  Arlene enjoyed traveling, cooking, reading, watching her grandsons play sports and taking them to the movies.  She loved her family and her grandchildren.  Predeceased by her parents, her husbands, siblings: Raymond, Alan and Sherri Luoma, she leaves her daughter Robin (Hanlon) Solek and her children Ryan, Kevin and Sean along with her former son-in-law Michael Solek all of Southwick, MA, her daughter Amy (Gladkowski) Orlov and her husband Alex along with their children Alex and Hannah, whom she loved and enjoyed spending time with, all of New Hartford, CT.  To honor Arlene’s wishes all services are private.  Avalon Life Celebration Center & Cremation Services, LLC 691 College Hwy., Southwick, MA has been entrusted with the arrangements.  To express a condolence, share memories or photos please visit Arlene’s memorial page at www.avaloncelebrations.com
