Antoinette (Goodreau) Owens

Antoinette Marie Owens of Monson, MA passed away on Saturday, July 3, 2021.  She had been waging a brave fight with cancer, until she was stricken with a stroke earlier this week, and finally succumbed to her illness peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones. 

Toni, as she preferred to be called, was a compassionate woman, devoted wife, and a beloved mother. She worked for many years as a stylist before choosing to pursue training as a CNA, which she would embrace as her career until her diagnosis. Toni was known for her love of knitting, delicious cooking, her sense of humor, and her green thumb. She was considered a second mother to many who knew her, and had a heart big enough to care for the world. 

Toni is preceded by her mother and father, Francis and Albert Goodreau, sister Beverly, brothers Buddy and Gordon Goodreau, sister-in-law Pamela Owens, and grandson Ayden George Rubeus. She leaves behind her husband Michael Owens, son Christopher Rubeus, his wife Danielle, and dear friend Dustin Bragga, sister-in-law Stacey Gravanis and her husband Dino, aunt Francis Dominici, sisters Mabel, Louise, Jeanette, and Donna, brothers Charlie, Larry, and James, and many nieces and nephews.

A private celebration of life is being held in Toni’s name by the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research  Hospital in Toni’s memory. Donations may be mailed to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or by visiting stjude.org
