Adelaida Santiago

WESTFIELD-Adelaida Santiago, 88, passed away at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA on Tuesday, February 11, 2020.  At the time of her passing, Adelaida was surrounded by the ones she loved and cherished the most, her devoted family. 

Adelaida was born on February 18, 1931, in Cuamo, Puerto Rico.  She was 1 of 18 children of the late Jose Aguedo Diaz and Ana Maria Nazario.   

Adelaida was a devoted wife and mother to her 6 children.  Being surrounded by her family was Adelaida’s most cherished time.  Her husband and children will forever miss her loving, sweet, and compassionate spirit. 

Adelaida loved all animals.  She enjoyed shopping, visiting casinos and cheering on the Red Sox with her husband. 

Other than her parents, Adelaida is also predeceased by 4 siblings.   She leaves her husband of 50 years Fredo L. Santiago of Westfield, MA, 4 sons: Robert, Charlie, and Melvin Rodriguez, and Junior Santiago all of Westfield, MA, her daughters Ivette Rodriguez of Portland, OR and Adalis Santiago of Westfield, MA, 18 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, 14 brothers, and sisters, along with many other family members and friends. 

The visitation will be held from 12 NOON – 2:15 PM on Friday, February 14, 2020, at Avalon Life Celebration Center & Cremation Services, LLC 691 College Hwy., Southwick, MA 01077  A service will be held at 2:15 PM at the funeral home.  A private burial will follow.
