Jessie M. Gibbons

WESTFIELD-Jessie M. (Phillips) Gibbons, 84, passed peacefully on Sunday, April 29, 2018, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA. In her passing Jessie was surrounded by her devoted family, including Gil and Maryjane, Brian and Laurie, Ricky, Russ and Venita, Randy and Raelene, Kathy and Tony, Ken and Marilyn, and Judy and Jane.  Jessie was born October 28, 1933, in Southwick, MA to Clifford and Jessie Mae (Leonesio) Phillips. A devoted homemaker to her children, she will be remembered for her world-class meat stuffing and Spanish Rice.  When Jessie wasn’t enjoying one of her home-cooked meals, she relished fried Scallops at her favorite restaurant, Bernie’s, in Chicopee, MA.  An avid bird watcher, she loved nature, the crisp calm of fall, and the bustle of the Big E. The girls at the Main Street Dunkin Donuts of Westfield will remember her fondly, both for her love and her sass. Predeceased by her daughter Darlene and her parents, she leaves her sons: Ricky Gibbons of Westfield, MA, Brian Gibbons (Laurie) of Westfield, MA and Gil Mejias (Maryjane) of Holyoke, MA; her brother Russell Phillips (Venita) of Southwick, MA, 6 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.
