EAST OTIS, MA & WEST MELBOURNE, FL-Hubert W. (Huey) Hughes passed away on August 31, 2017 at the age of 92. He was born July 24, 1925 in Endicott, NY and proudly served in the US Navy during WW II.  He had a successful career as an engineer at Pratt and Whitney Aircraft in East Hartford, Connecticut and was a resident of West Melbourne, Florida and East Otis, Massachusetts during his retirement years. 

He was pre-deceased by his father Hugh, his mother Ruth (Weed) Hughes, brother Joe, sister Peg (Hughes) Fuller, and his wife June (Colomb) Hughes. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Ruth and Peter McGee, his son and daughter-in-law Robert and Kathleen Hughes, his step-daughter Becky Phillips and her husband Joe and their children Joe and Erica, twin grandsons, Douglas and Andrew Hughes, granddaughters, Samantha Rowe and Whitney (McGee) Beaulac, ten great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. 

He was an avid sports fan and loved to bowl, play golf, travel and spend time with family and friends.  He also enjoyed reading fiction and non-fiction.  He was a true gentleman, who was loved and respected by all those privileged to know him. 

As he requested there will be no services. Any donations should be made to the General Fund at The Blandford Club, 17 North St. P.O.
