SOUTHWICK-Barbara Jane Regan passed away in her home surrounded by family on January 4, 2019 at the age of 59.
She is predeceased by her mother, Lois W. Bryant (née Twiss), and her father, Howard L. Regan.
Barbara is lovingly remembered by her three daughters, Amy R. Howatt with her husband Nathan Howatt, Kelsey A. Strong, and Gabrielle L. Staples with her husband Nathan E. Staples, and three grandchildren, Jackson R. Howatt, Addison M. Howatt, and Melanee I. Staples.
Barbara was born in Holyoke, Massachusetts on September 20, 1959. She graduated from West Springfield High School in 1977 and went on to earn an Associate’s Degree from Holyoke Community College in 1982. She enjoyed a successful career in travel for more than 30 years.
Barbara will forever be remembered for her love of gardening, bike riding, traveling, and laughing with loved ones. Her passion to explore brought her far and wide, from the glaciers of Alaska to the mountains of Switzerland, the coast of Chile and the beer gardens of Germany to the beaches of Brazil and St. Thomas, and the rain forest of Puerto Rico. While Barbara found excitement all around the world, it was right here in Western Massachusetts that she built the strong loving home where she raised her daughters, forged life-long friendships, and created the circle of warmth and compassion that embraces her at her passing with the same strength it held during her lifetime.
A celebration of Barbara’s life will be held at Avalon Life Celebration Center & Cremation Services, LLC 691 College Highway, Southwick, MA on Friday, January 11, 2019 from 2-4 PM.
