AGAWAM-Mario A. L’Archeveque, 65, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA.
Mario was born on July 23, 1952 in Montreal, Quebec to Jean and Therese (Jasmin) L’Archeveque. Mario was a member of the United States Marine Corps and served his country with pride in the Vietnam War. Mario had worked for many years as a carpet and flooring installer and most recently as a Shipper/Receiver for Yellow Freight Systems. He was a past Commander at American Legion Post 185 in Agawam, MA for many years and was a member of the West Springfield Fish and Game Club. He was also a member of Teamsters Local 404. In his spare time Mario enjoyed fishing and was a fan of auto racing.
He is survived by his best friend and caregiver Karl Geiger and wife Maryann, his cherished dog Tinkerbell, his cat Shelby Sue and many special friends. He also leaves his sister Renee L’Archeveque. Predeceased by his parents, his brother Michael L’Archeveque, and his sister Joanne Smith.
A committal service will be held on Friday, February 2, 2018 at 3:00 PM at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Agawam, MA. A reception will follow at the American Legion Post 185, 478 Springfield St., Feeding Hills, MA.
