Gretchen - my very best friend from many years ago - although our paths in this life took us to very different places - there was a common thread. That thread was the love we felt for each other. Even though we disagreed on pretty much everything these last 15 years or so - I know you loved me and I have to believe you knew I loved you too. I wish that friendship and that love could have "saved you." (Those were your words to me - often). I'm saddened that you have left us but I am grateful and hopeful because I know that you no longer suffer. You are now free. You see things clearly now and I believe you are with our Father in the most beautiful place that exists. One day we will see one another again - I will see my friend from so many years ago -the one with the infectious smile and laugh. That will be a day to cherish. Until then, be at peace and know that you are loved - today, tomorrow and always, from your friend you met in the girls bathroom at the Agawam Middle School so many many years ago. xoxo
