Gladys E. (Belcher) Sawyer

WORTHINGTON-Gladys E. Sawyer, 95, passed away on Sunday, November 05, 2017 at Genesis Westfield in Westfield, MA.  Gladys was born on November 24, 1921 in Coventry, Connecticut to Henry and Ethel (Ferguson) Belcher.  She was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles.  A mother figure to many, Gladys enjoyed taking care of her children, grandchildren, and many kids in her neighborhood throughout the years.  Predeceased by her parents, her husband Clayton Sawyer, her brother Clifford Belcher, and her sister Justine Emerson, she leaves her daughters Jessie Williams and her husband Irvin of Huntington, MA and Kathy Belicek and her partner Richard Phillips of Worthington, MA, her son Bruce Sawyer and his wife Mary of Brookfield, MA, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other family members and friends.  A graveside service will be held on Monday, November 13, 2017 at 10AM at Oak Grove Cemetery, 426 Bay Street, Springfield, MA.
